Dr. Carmen Rojas is the president and CEO of Marguerite Casey Foundation. Under her leadership, the foundation launched the prestigious Freedom Scholar award, committed to ensuring that a majority of MCF’s endowment is overseen by diverse managers, and since starting in 2020 granted more than $130M in funding to dozens of organizations doing the hard work of shifting power to those people who have long been excluded from having it. Prior to MCF, Dr. Rojas was the cofounder and CEO of The Workers Lab, an innovation lab that partners with workers to develop new ideas that help them succeed and flourish. For more than 20 years, she has worked with foundations, financial institutions, and nonprofits to improve the lives of working people across the country.

Dr. Shah currently leads The Rockefeller Foundation, a global institution dedicated to enhancing human well-being worldwide through innovative approaches that address critical issues, including health, nutrition, sustainable food systems, energy access, and economic mobility. His distinguished career includes serving as the Administrator of USAID, where he transformed the agency's operations, secured bipartisan support for significant legislation, and led responses to major global crises. In October 2023, Dr. Shah will release "Big Bets: How Large-Scale Change Really Happens," a book that presents a new model for achieving transformative change, drawing from his extensive humanitarian work. He has also founded Latitude Capital, held a role at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and has a rich academic background. Dr. Shah's impact reaches far and wide.

Adrian Haro

The Workers Lab

Adrian Haro, CEO since 2017, led The Workers Lab's nonprofit formation, doubling its budget and staff; previously held roles in progressive politics, government, and public affairs, including serving as a speechwriter to the U.S. Secretary of Labor, Hilda L. Solis, and working at Civitas Public Affairs Group. Adrian's background also includes grassroots organizing on Barack Obama's 2008 campaign and a stint in Hollywood under Moctesuma Esparza's mentorship. Adrian's academic foundation is in rhetorical studies and political science from California State University, Long Beach, and he hails from East Los Angeles.
